DP... why do so many illegal immigrants come here? Because they know they can get jobs, not because they know they can get free healthcare (which, for many, they can't).   The fact that you think they are coming here for free healthcare tells me how little you know about being desperate and poor.  Mandatory e-verify and a hefty fine for those who hire illegal immigrants would cut back dramatically on the demand for illegal immigrant labor.  You are like those who blame the desperate prostitute rather than the immoral john.

I am a legal immigrant, children of legal immigrants who escaped abject poverty, and one parent who escaped communism.  This parent has told me a fraction of the things parent went through.

I am not for open borders at all. But, I can empathize with why they come here, and that is to find a job to feed their families, just like the reason most of your ancestors came here.

A white American woman wrote an open letter reminding her MAGA loving uncles that the much loved matriach of the family came to the US much like many of these illegal immigrants.
