Using your feet is so much harder than any sports you do with your hands. You can’t pick up soccer skills at a later age. You need to be developing both feet from a very young age. Yes— keeping head up, looking for passes, reading the court/field are similar and complimentary to other sports like basketball, lacrosse, etc. but that’s it. The body/foot thing can not be picked up late in development. American soccer maybe—kick and run, but you will never play like a European.
I love these posts. American soccer, kick and run and you can’t learn to play with your feet when you’re older. So arrogant and so wrong. But, you can’t argue with a one trick pony that doesn’t realize that there is a sports world out there beyond just soccer that takes a lot of skill and hard work. Yes, using your feet is harder than using your hands, no s&@t Sherlock, but everything is relative. You ever tried hitting an 80 mph curveball? No, I didn’t think so cuz you’d just crap your pants as the ball sped toward your head only to drop off at the last second. Easier, my ass Francois.
And did anyone just start to learn how to hit a 80mph curve ball in middle school?
Probably HS and definitely not many at 80.
