Kids with parents who can afford the time and expense of getting their kid into and sending their kid to TJ comprise the VAST majority of Loudoun kids at TJ. No, I do not have data or time to seek it at the moment, but the idea that cutting off the literal free ride means TJ suddenly becomes a school only for rich kids is ridiculous. I would be shocked if more than a small handful of students at TJ are both from Loudoun AND low-income.

If there's inequity in the student population at TJ, it's because for almost all students (wunderkind/child prodigies/born geniuses being the exceptions), getting in requires extensive extracurricular study, which is not cheap. Of course there are exceptions, but let's be real. This is 99% about families with plenty of means who have spent their kids' educational careers grooming them for TJ, and now they are mad they have to find a way to get them there instead of taxpayer-paid transportation. Entitlement. The end.[/quote]
