Wow, I think some of you have way too much time on your hands if this offends you. You kind of sound like children yourselves. It’s MY day! Nothing about what others want to consider to be part of a commercial holiday makes me any less of a mother. I am lucky to have a family who loves me and shows me appreciation more than one day a year, though, so I don’t have to dwell on it.
But....it kind of is? Mother's Day is a day to celebrate mother's, not women who are childfree by choice or women who have no children but own pets. I just think it's getting ridiculous.
+1 it IS *my* day! Mother’s work so, so hard. It is a completely thankless job, even if you have a wonderful and kind and attentive husband and kids. It is NICE to be recognized and appreciated. FOR ONE DAY.
I've never felt like this before. I have two kids. Why do you do it if it's a completely thankless job? Maybe the fact that I don't hate being a mother is why I don't care how or if I'm celebrated (or who else is celebrated) on Mother's Day.
