Saying pride noght is about sex is like saying going to a wedding is about sex.
Pride night is about celebrating one’s homosexuality, that it is ok, and that one is proud of it. There is nothing wrong with being homosexual or being proud of it. However, being homosexual or heterosexual IS about sex. It is about a person’s sexual preference. The fact that you don’t grasp this is funny, actually. Also, getting married is a traditional event that legally allows a married couple to have sex, so yes a wedding is about sex, or at least it was. Now you’re right it is about registries, drunken chicken dances and fancy limo rides ... to the hotel ... where guess what the bride and groom (or bride and bride or groom and groom) are probably going to do ...
You are still wrong and miss the whole point. Pride night is about celebrating diversity and inclusion. When you stop acting like it is big deal it will stop being one. When same sex partners are afforded the same rights as hetero couples then there will no longer be a need for a Pride night. But Pride night is more about group identity in the same way that every year there is a Puerto Rican Parade in NYC. Why are you even sexualizing what a gay couple does in private? Do you take the same time to look at families or couples and sexualize their relationships?
“When you stop acting like it is big deal it will stop being one.” I think having a pride night is making a big deal. Anyhow, I am bored with this argument now. On to a different one.
