I’d admit to being a serial killer before admitting to be a republican let alone a trump supporter in this area. I hate my life living under democrat domination
+1. We don’t discuss politics with others. No one would ever guess that we voted for trump.
I'm curious about this. How do people not know? I live in DC and I can figure out who voted for Trump from their standpoints on different things. For instance, one acquaintance made a remark about #metoo and victim mentality, chances are R. Another commented about never letting her son go to the bathroom alone because of transgender people, chances are R. People mention articles they read and news they saw and usually say I read this on the WaPo or saw this on Fox News, and then you can figure out who they voted for. You might think you're hidden, but I doubt it.
No. This is you making dumb stereotypical assumptions, which, by the way, is something very common for liberals. :)
+1
I voted for Trump and keep a watchful eye on him. I didnt care for the alternative candidate unfortunately. I wouldn't admit to voting for him, but also wouldn't have admitted to Romney (had he won), or Bush - who did. This area is not multi viewpoint friendly. I generally like my neighbors as people. I dont need to be around only like minded. Who wants to be shunned? So I avoid politics and focus on other connections and commonalities. What's funny is Trump is actually less Republican and less socially conservative than the others I've mentioned. At some point Democrats would do well to understand that some people are more wired to the point of view of the other party/parties and to engage. Their heavy handed reprobation is silencing, and we go on quietly doing out private thing in the ballot box. What's funny is that I can mildly agree with a lot of what my.DMV neighbors express as - like most Rs in the area- I'm not that socially conservative. Guessing there are more of us than you think?
