He made a big deal out of it when he started becoming famous, and sportscasters changed how they refer to him. It's true that people assume dark skin = black/African American...but that's changing. Woods was actually important to making that happen. Similarly, Obama is considered black because after a lot of soul searching he chose to identify that way. He wrote about it in his book. My kids are mixed but look totally white. Like people don't believe they are my kids. 5yo DD is starting to ask questions to figure it out. I don't think she will want to be seen as just white.[/quote]
