This year we are giving DD (14) a box of chocolates (she LOVES chocolate), a teddy bear that was free with the purchase of 3 cards, and a humor book that features her favorite animal.

We are having a family favorite dinner tonight. I made DH his favorite cookies, and DD and I will bake a batch of brownies this afternoon. And I bought my favorite flowers (not roses) for the table when I went grocery shopping earlier in the week.

I hate a lot about Valentine's Day. I choose to counter the forced romance by celebrating family and friends. And I hope that DD feels loved and doesn't feel the "need" for a romantic partner to "complete her". Ugh.[/quote]
