A lot of people do not know they have the flu/pneumonia; they just think it is a bad cold or something.

Also, in addition to underestimating how serious their illnesses are, the reason a lot of wealthy people who are famous fail to  go to the ER or Urgent Care is that they are afraid of being seen by the paparazzi/someone who will alert the paparazzi causing all kinds of salacious rumors about them to appear in the tabloids, on gossip sites, etc (case in point: this thread) making it more difficult to get work as they will be seen as difficult to insure.[/quote]

A doctor and a concierge specialist are two different things. For a concierge practice in Hollywood/the Hamptons/New York set the retainer starts at $25,000 a year. That's just to be on their roster of patients.

Michael Jackson's concierge doctor? Billed him $300,000 for two months.
