Democrats don't support anything to stop illegal immigration, because they want more of it. They should just be more open about it. They want to change the demographics of this country.
You’re an idiot.
You're an idiot if you don't see that. That's why Keith Ellison wore a shirt that said "I don't believe in borders." That's why dems support sanctuary cities for illegals. That's why dems support asylum fraud. That's why dems don't want to build a wall. That's why dems want mass amnesty. That's why dems don't want to deport illegals. That's why dems support every single thing that makes it easier for illegal immigrants to remain here. Idiot.
Deportations also went up during the Obama years.
How does this lie keep making its way around? Obama simply "redefined" what counted as a deportation by counting those who were turned away at the border as a deportation. Google it. It takes two seconds. This is incredibly well known.
Well, gee, I guess since Trump can redefine what a border wall means, Obama can redefine what deportations mean. But no, the deportations were redefined under Bush, not Obama, and it was a good move. It ensured that law enforcement had documentation on who was being caught, whereas previously, illegal immigrants caught at the border were simply released back to Mexico without going through the formal deportations. Prior to this, the official number of deportations weren't counting the "catch and release" back to Mexico numbers. Isn't Trump still using the same deportation definition now? If so, then Obama still deported more than Trump. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/obama-deported-more-people/
that statistic is somewhat misleading, as a significant portion of it was due to a change in the way “deportations” are defined that began during the Bush administration.. Now, the vast majority of border crossers who are apprehended get fingerprinted and formally deported. The change began during the George W. Bush administration and accelerated under Obama. The policy stemmed in part from a desire to ensure that people who had crossed into the country illegally would have formal charges on their records. In the Obama years, all of the increase in deportations has involved people picked up within 100 miles of the border..
Even a conservative site states that deportations were higher under Obama than Trump, using the same deportation definition. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/ice-deportations-under-trump-are-up-but-nowhere-near-obama-levels
