If we don't have the money to properly fund veterans health care or feed kids breakfast at school in the morning (I don't care who their parents are) and I can't afford to go to the doctor (please don't insert the illegal immigrants dog whistle here because it has nothing to do with why I can't afford healthcare) I certainly cannot see how we can afford to build a large structure that will be obsolete in five years. Why are we feeding kids breakfast at school. We had lunch, but now breakfast and lunch is the new standard? Well, who is paying for that? We have 300,000 illegal aliens jumping the border to the south every year. That's NOT free; there are costs associated with that bad behavior, much more than several billion to build the wall where it's needed. These are apprehensions: https://www.factcheck.org/2018/06/illegal-immigration-statistics/ Wow - pretty amazing how much illegal immigration has slowed down over the last 10-15 years.
It's called a recession. If you look at the historical immigration records, immigration goes down every time we have a recession. The 20's were boom for immigration. The 30's were bust. The 80's were boom and then later 90's were boom. It has everything to do with employment here.
