Will anyone be planning on mentioning anything to her about her secret service detail idling their two suburbans behind the back of the building for hours on end while she's inside? I work in a building where Mrs Obama spent much of last week, and every day, there were two suburbans out by the back doors, parked, and idling all day long. Like 5-6 hours, from Tuesday to this Monday while she was here. That's +60 HOURS worth of idling SUVs. Ponder how much pollution that caused. Probably 3 gallons of fuel for each, per day, that's 30 gallons of gasoline. That's about 180 POUNDS of carbon into the atmosphere for absolutely no reason whatsoever. DCUM is fond of shaming people who idle their cars in their driveway for even a few minutes. I hope someone here will have the integrity to ask Mrs Obama to instruct her agents to turn their engines off.
I love MO but this is unacceptable. Idling SUVs for hours - just no. There are usually lots of SUVs idling in front of the Capitol too, also unacceptable. If anyone has the ability to say something to her about this please do.
How cute. You think no one has ever told her about this?
I think its weird the above PPs want to tell Secret Service to turn their cars off. So that if there is an attack in this post-9/11 climate...well, they're stuck. Like, really?
We live in year 2018, lady. 9/11 happened 17 years ago...maybe you need to move on? Oh, and how is the basic decency of turning you car off "being stuck"? You can turn your car on in 2 seconds. This is just about the arrogance of power.
A car being on is the difference between life and death for their jobs. And yes we're post 9/11 while still dealing with the same security issues. I mean but I would love for the DoD to shift some of that massive budget over to the DoT so we could get better infrastructure in this country. Win-win right? Less F-35s polluting the sky and more people taking high-velocity electric trains up and down the coasts. Let's say we work on that.
