[/quote] Money taken from tax deferred accounts will be taxable so amount available is less than what u think[/quote] It's not typical to calculate net worth with estimated future tax burden in mind, since it's impossible to know what that burden will be. But people should think about it. I report my net worth in absolute dollars but in my mind I assume that anything tax-deferred is worth 75% of its value as a rough guess. I also don't figure social security into my retirement planning except as a potential source of discretionary funds.[/quote]
