Luisa entered illegally and stayed for many years. Her only option is to go to the consulate in Ecuador and apply for a visa, which means if she was denied she would be kept out of the US for 10 years (even if her visa was approved it could take time for her to be allowed back in). I don't know how she and Cole were able to marry but I suspect their marriage is not legal.[/quote]
