I had two children with a man I wasn't married to, and not marrying him was one of the best decisions of my life. I make a lot more than him, and when he turned out to be a liar and a cheat, I was able to get out of the relationship without paying him anything. If we were married, he'd have been entitled to a lot of my hard-earned assets and income. Not to mention that the whole time we were married, we would have paid a lot more in taxes. I actually don't know why any high-earning woman would get married. [/quote]
