My child goes to Wilson and is a straight A student. She is whip smart but I know she will struggle if she gets into an academically rigorous college. Wilson academic standards are certainly lower than those of the private high school I attended as a teenager. However, because she is smart, she will learn quickly and do well. Yes, students who have gone to rigorous private schools that cost at least 40K a year will find the adjustment much easier, but most intelligent 18 year olds will pick things up quickly and do just fine in the long run. There is a lot of nasty garbage on this thread, and it only speaks ill of the trolls that are posting.
Honestly, if a kid does the homework at Wilson, it’s pretty easy to be an A student. Doing homework half the time gets you Bs. Heck, someone can miss a lot of school and still get Cs.
The relevance of this comment is what? To prove that my kid or others that get all A's at Wilson are not smart? My point was made to reply to all the snarky people saying Wilson grads can't do well at Ivy league schools. And to the PP who asked if all DCUM poster's kids are above average the answer is "some of them are". Have a nice day
