I went to large state U as an out of stater and was definitely in the minority as OOS (this is a school that limits number of OOS) and no one saw me as exotic, lol. A kid from McLean and a kid from Winnetka IL or Upper Arlington OH or Plano TX are, for all intents and purposes, pretty darn similar in terms of life experiences (well, they might have different life experiences, but not on the basis of their home state alone.
