This. I started my period really early (I think 10 as well), and I had extremely heavy flows. It's because I had medical issues regulating my hormones...which ultimately was treated with hormone pills under the care of an OB and pediatrician. FWIW, in my case the treatment was progesterone, not BC...but regardless, you should only do this with a doctor who understands the endocrine system!!

Cut your DD some slack. She is not a medical anomaly by any reasonable definition, but she is in a relatively small percentage of the population. My mom wasn't a great mom in many respects, but one thing she really did a good job of was doing what she could to mitigate any stigma or shame related to my getting my period early. It was still really hard, though.[/quote]
