I'm the PP who bought one recently. It's in our house and set up now. So far I am very happy with the purchase. Here are my random thoughts about it: - I've found the scheduling ease of taking a class in my house to be a huge win. I've already had days where I've exercised that I wouldn't otherwise have exercised, because there is no time wasted. I can't run (long-term spinal injury) so my hard cardio options always involve going somewhere and on busy days, that just doesn't happen. I would buy the Peloton again for that aspect alone. - Instructor quality is high. I've lived in multiple places and fitness instructors in places like LA, NYC, and London are just markedly better on average than in places like DC. It hadn't occurred to me when I was signing up that I was going back to NYC-level instructor quality, and that's a really nice aspect. - The live schedule is not as easy to work with as I'd thought (I can make less of them than I'd imagined), but the live classes are fun. There is something neat about knowing that it's going on at that minute and I love the shoutouts. That's the only reason I use the leaderboard; I don't see the point of the leaderboard in the recorded classes. - We wired up the sound system to a set of real speakers and it makes a big difference in sound quality. I love turning off the lights, closing my eyes, and blasting the music. The sound quality it comes with isn't great. - I don't find I care much about the leaderboard outside of the live classes and tend to hide it, but I do like the live stats about my own rides and the badges. - The DJ rides are really fun. I hadn't thought about how adding a DJ would change things up, but it really does seem to make it more like a party. - I'm not as good a spinner as I thought! One nice thing about the individualized numbers is that I can see where I am with respect to the instructor, as opposed to a live spinning class at my gym. Saying "resistance at 40" is a lot more concrete than "two turns to the right" which is what happens at the gym. I find that I'm working harder in the Peloton classes, I think because I can see what number I'm at all the time. - The streaming is sometimes awful. That's only thing I really don't like because it's very frustrating: you're in the class, in a groove, and things just freeze.
