I watch and am always kind of stunned how normal the kids turned out. Unlike other religious cult families -- say like the Duggars -- these people really did not separate their kids from society to indoctrinate them that their way of life is the only way. All the kids are in/went to regular public school. That probably had some influence on the fact that none of these kids - so far - wants anything to do with polygamy. They have friends, have seen their friends/friends parents' lives with one spouse and 3 kids and presumably want to fit into society by having that. The oldest boy (Logan) has graduated U Nevada and is now in grad school part time for a healthcare related field (I think nursing). Has been dating a girl who is also a grad student for 2-3 yrs that he just proposed to -- instead of running off and marrying her on the first date. Janelle and Kody have said that they don't agree with Logan's life "choices" as it's against their values -- i.e. kissing girls; living with (and likely sleeping with) his girlfriend; having a drink with dinner; going out dancing with his gf -- his mother clearly said, if you love her so much, just marry her. Yet he still did what he wanted and dated in the ordinary course, and it seems despite the parents' "disapproval," seems like the gf is welcome in their home and treated nicely. Hunter is at the US Air Force Academy. One of their younger brothers enlisted in the National Guard. Frankly it seems like the boys are turning out pretty normal. The girls too though I wish they'd stop being so approving of their 19 year old daughters marrying with no education and no means of their own support. It's 2017 - divorces happen - then what are they going to do?! Hell Robin got divorced way back in the day with 3 kids and she's lucky Kody came in wanting her and thus her 3 kids were taken care of. They are obsessed with Maddy's husband bc he's such a good guy in their cult -- but she married at 19, has a baby at 20 and is 100% dependent on him. Mykelti's husband seems like a tool.
Thanks for the update. I'm all caught up now and don't need to watch. What is going on over on 90-day Fiance?
