They have a sign (although that's not hard to fake).

Uber also sends them and you, if you're account, a photo of the driver, picture of his/her car, and a license plate number.  So, it's pretty easy to be sure you have the right car.  Uber will also know the name of the person whose account it is, so they can ask.  [/quote]

Of course creeps would. Which is why any teen with half a brain (or whose parents had the common sense to teach them a few tips) checks the license plate on the car to see that it matches that of the uber driver dispatched for the ride, and makes sure the driver matches the picture on the app. Perhaps I'm more laid back than most here, but my kids take uber fairly regularly and have since about 8th grade. No significant mishaps yet.[/quote]
