Getting your paperwork processed is a huge hassle (no one calls you back, and the people in charge of the hiring are rude and disorganized), it takes forever to get through to anyone on the phone, and they are not at all responsive if you need assistance with anything. This is not just my experience, either; when I was at orientation, every single person mentioned having numerous problems and more than a few said the system in various neighboring counties is much smoother. I would be willing to bet that a lot of qualified potential subs jump ship to other counties because they're so put off by the hiring process.
