Off topic: What is it that drives so many public school parents on DCUM to take unsolicited potshots at private schools? Of course I know the bullets fly both directions, and I've seen plenty of private school parents here make obnoxious comments about public schools. And when the public & private parents get into trading insults and brags, both sides get ugly. But it really seems to me like there are a ton of unsolicited jabs at private schools from public school parents. Hardly a day goes by on DCUM without some public school parent taking a shot. Why is that? I don't think public school parents are any meaner than private school parents. And I don't think it's jealousy because they clearly don't like private schools. So I can't understand what drive so many public school parents to start unprovoked fights. I'm not trying to start a fight. This is a serious (but perhaps naive) question. Any ideas? TIA
What do you call a parent who attended private schools (all the way through) and has kids in both private and public schools who has a high impression of the superlative education at TJ and Montgomery Blair and a very low impression of many of the area private schools? Does my opinion count ... and why not? Illiterati -- Am I allowed to post on this public private school board? Or will the your counterpart, the public public school board police cop, turn me away because I went to private school and have kids in private school. What are the credentials, if any, that entitle you to post on the public private school board since you apparently view this as your private entitlement? Why are you so threatened by other private school parents posting on this public board with a different opinion, and sometimes facts, than you? Off topic: What is it that drives defensive and paranoid people like you to label differences of opinion -- a solicited pot shot?
