The program was never lawful; its counterpart for adults (DAPA) was blocked in federal court. There is no right to violate the most basic immigration law.
You know as well as I do that, punishing a child of a violation he/she did not know committed is not being lawful. trump pardoned a criminally charged sheriff because he was against brown and punishing innocent young adult because they are brown. he is advancing white supremacist agenda. you are applauding him dismantle our country; you are disgusting!
This isn't a white supremacist agenda. We have our own people to spend our money on and that includes all races. Should we also just give 10's of thousands of dollars to illegals [over 600,000] who parked themselves in Houston?
DP... so realistically, right now there are probably thousands of illegal immigrants in TX who have been affected by Harvey. Are you suggesting that we check everyone's legal status before offering them shelter and food? I don't even think you have to be a Christian to realize how inhumane that is. What happened to R being a party of Christian beliefs, which includes helping the unfortunate. Does the Bible say to first check that the person hasn't broken any laws before lending a helping hand? When I turned 18 decades ago I registered as a R in part because it was known as the party of "Christian ideals". Now that I am much older and I think a bit wiser, I now see that it's now a party of "Christian beliefs" in name only and not in action or deeds; it's about making sure everyone is like "them", and controlling how they live and love. And it's definitely now a party about greed and love of money over doing what is right even if it means you might have higher taxes. I have left that party.
I am not suggesting the illegals do not have access to shelters, food, rescues. I am stating that they should not get the up to $33,000 FEMA grants nor SBA loans nor housing relocation via any government funds. At least one reporter at a press conference asked if the USA was going to include them in funds beyond the next step of basic shelter, rescue, etc. Obama's unaccompanied minors were a deluge after DACA. We know they were not small children. Any relief from Mexico for Harvey should include transportation back to Mexico for it's own people.
So if they shouldn't get access to housing relocation via government funds doesn't that generlly mean you don't want to offer then shelter unless they can prove they are here legally? I have no problem if MX wants to pay for its citizens to go back to MX. But if these folks don't go back, then should we just let them be homeless because you don't think the government should help them by spending one cent on them?
DP. This is America. We let lots of people be homeless here - including our own citizens.
But, I'm pretty sure that if there was a disaster, even homeless people would be given some shelter.
