This thread was about a stigma - there is no stigma at all in the professional world.  None.  Nobody is getting passed over for a job or fired from their job because the are a Penn State graduate.  In fact it is quite the opposite.  Penn State graduates thrive, just like many other schools  - they aren't living with their heads in the sand over a controversy that doesn't involve them.  The Wall Street Journal has, twice in the past five years listed Penn State as the school where recruiters would most like to go for talent.  The Penn State brand is about much more than football.

You're delusional.  Penn State is a mediocre school with a reputation for having a cultish student body that is incapable of open and honest dialog about a subject as important as child abuse.  The stink of Sandusky extends to the community that enabled his behavior and defended those that chose to look the other way.  Shame on all of them. And how can you say there is no stigma when half the posts on this thread indicate the exact opposite?  Typical penn stAte grad.[/quote]
