Not the PP.  I suspect she's wanting to know if a child is being targeted because of race.  Not an illegitimate question - hate crime statutes exist for a reason.[/quote]

New poster, but race can be a complicating factor in DCPS with such cases.  I unfortunately speak from experience, as several years ago my preschool-agechild was repeatedly attacked quite brutally at school.  We had multiple witnesses and incident reports, including from multiple teachers, as well as an outside medical report, but the fact that my high-SES white child was the victim of a black student in a rapidly gentrifying school made it more complicated for the Principal to take effective action.  There were just certain political realities related to race that made the (white) Principal more hesitant to act at the time....  (there were other factors at play, too, of course.)
