It's not Sidwell, it's a special education school for kids with diagnosed learning disabilities. It's been in DC for 50 years. They've leased old Hardy since 2008 after a charter school failed on that site. Lab needs to repair the1930s-era building for the health and safety of 90 kids, including kids from Wards 2 and 3 who weren't getting the education they are guaranteed under federal disability law in neighborhood schools. Lab is not expanding or doing major reno. The building will be in better shape if and when DCPS wants it back. Can we get back to the issue of Hyde-Addison? What is the status of this spinoff school?[/quote]
