I'm pretty sure he was trying to call them out on their misrepresentation and attempts to portray him in a negative light. I've heard lots of talk about the numbers, but has anyone mentioned how the Time reporter suggested that Trump removed the MLK bust from the Oval Office? That was a ridiculous accusation to tweet out and be wrong about it.
Did it ever occur to you that the President of the United States should be above getting in fights on twitter in regards to furniture in his Oval Office? That his Press Secretary should not call an emergency press conference on a Saturday afternoon lambasting reporters over a model head and crowd optics? Let's forget the angry tones, the diatribe, and the lies. It's BENEATH him. I don't even know what to say anymore...he's not a president, he's a child.
I agree that it was an overreaction. But regarding the bust, can you even imagine a reporter accusing another president of removing the bust of a revered civil rights leader from the Oval Office on the very first day in office? Without confirming that it was so? I promise you, it would never happen. You think there was no hope on that reporter's part of advancing a certain agenda with that misstatement? Anyone even trying to be unbiased can admit that was very irresponsible, and extremely unlikely to have been an accident.
I agree, you're right. In some ways the reporters are harsher on Donald J. Trump. They are not out to 'get him', they're out to catch him in a lie. To find something that irrefutably proves he is the demon that liberal party thinks he is. I'll admit, if they find something that is enough to impeach him on within the first term, I will cry tears of joy. If this was any other president I would not say that. But Trump is not a president we can live with. His temper, his antics, his honest disrespect for the office and the traditions held dear, are just untenable. In fact, some of his broad policies I actually agree with. But knowing that this is the individual that holds our nuclear codes, that this is the individual that is in charge of all governmental departments (he lambasted the National Park Service yesterday for a freaking image), and that this is the person that at any time can order rendition of a citizen...just leaves me cold. The thing is...I'm not the only one. We're just trying to do something about it.
