Anotheranxious talker here and PP with non stop Mom talker.  There's a difference.

I am a sensitive listener, a good listener.  I will ask questions and wait for an answer.  I like conversation and genuinely enjoy learning.

I have panic attacks.  One way to obliterate a nasty Panic attack is to engage and get out of the spiral of doom.  So, I will be a bit more animated, but I'll also try to distract myself with conversation.

My mom simply talks without taking a breath.  DH says having my mom around is akin to having talk radio on in the background.  There's never any dead air on the radio and there's never dead air with my mom.  She talks to fill every pause and demands attention.  Every action is discussed and questioned ("why is Larla whispering?  Is there something wrong?  What is she asking you?  Is Larla alright?  Is she upset?  Do you want me to talk to her about something?")[/quote]
