Going away from home is a bit scary even when it's very exciting. So if a senior posts "Gonna be a Smithie come fall!" then their bunkmate from camp when they were 11 can see that and post "hey, my cousin's best friend is also going there - look for Natasha J!" and then the original senior feels less alone, and has a connection. Plus someone else will post "Hey, I'll just be at BU - let's get together one weekend". We as adults talk all the time about having a support network. College is often when kids start building their own. [/quote]
