How? Does she have kids in the school system and doesn't live in DC?
We are not DCPS so I have a question about this. Most school systems allow administrators, principals, teachers, etc. to apply for their children to attend school within the school system in which they work. DCPS doesn't allow this?
No it doesn't.
She likely facilitated the fraud (for friends/family???). I seriously doubt she could pull off pretending to live in one area while having her children in the school. Funny how DCPS will turn a blind eye to teacher grievances about her for YEARS, but the second she commits residency fraud, it's a wrap. It's clear the system doesn't value it's teachers, which is why they flee for surrounding areas after an average of 2 years in. DCPS cares more about money (how dare she allow those people to send their children to DCPS without paying the out of bounds fee) than its teachers.
We're talking about Leckie, not some sought after NW school. How many people are really clamoring to get into Leckie and how many of those people did the principal lend a helping hand to? It sounds pretty incredible to me.
What's an acceptable for fraud? Less than five and all is ok?
My point is, I doubt that she got fired because a couple of people got into the school. There has to be more to this story. And I know of other principals at other schools that have done the same and have not gotten fired.
