If, at the end of the day, your taxable income doesn't support the use of that rate, you aren't taxed at that rate. If you are talking about amounts withheld, that's not a tax. Period. It is withholding. And you may or may not get some of it back. So no. A bonus is not "super" taxed. It's is taxed exactly like all of your other earnings paid in cash. Exactly.
