Don't even you get tired of saying this? Please be aware that many millennials are indeed smarter than their parents, as they have come to see this issue from an entirely different light. As technology advances, we are more aware than ever that early life is real, valued and deserves our protection.
Up until I waas pregnant with my first, I didn't realize why 20 weeks is not the right time to disallow abortions. Up until I was pregnant with my second, who was a premie, I didn't realize that being born extremely prematurely may not be a gift. Millenials who have had children may know this. The ones who haven't may not.
Yeah, people who cite medical advances in this debate clearly don't really understand them. My mom's a neonatologist, so I grew up around NICUs and volunteered in one in college. I know a lot about what is and is not possible after the point of "viability". That makes me more certain that people need an absolute right to make reproductive choices. And I personally don't think I could ever have one except for medical reasons and neither does my sister who used to work for PP (she could barely go through with a D&C for a suspected ectopic pregnancy). A friend of mine tried to guilt me into an anti-choice position by citing my volunteer work in NICUs...it was flat out insulting that he felt I was incapable of reconciling the actual work I was doing with extremely premature babies and my reproductive rights position. And after having children, he has very much changed his stance.
