Nobody wants this.

What will happen is showcases will become like talent IDs where parents of a certain team/grade pay for the Showcase but players hand chosen from 2-3 age groups get to attend.

Leagues dont care. College coaches want this because it makes Club soccer like HS soccer.

If a league like ECNL stated doing GY showcases players would flock to GA assuming they kept things normal. Theres way more parents with players that pay their dues and play the correct grade than there are crazy parents looking to play down. Parents that pay the bills wont stick around if this is where things go.[/quote]

I am all for playing by grade.

I just dont want older players playing down against players 1-2 years younger.

SY 7/1-8/31 with a rule that Aug birthdays play with their grade gives you all players at a game a certain grade but no holdbacks.[/quote]Based on your logic, if kids can't play against players a bit older than they won't be able to handle playing in college as freshman. Your position adjusts based on your goal. Playing by grade ignores player's ages so your first 2 criteria are a contradiction.[/quote]
