My son is going to go. I see too many guys raised with no manners. I can only do so much at home so I am happy to have him with other families who also care about manners.
My kids have great manners because we instilled them within our house. We didn't need any BS cotillion to teach our son how to behave. You are pathetic.
Perhaps. But Cotlillion, like country clubs, and private schools, is just another way to separate out the upper class from the rest of you.
If you are sending your child to a private school in order to "separate out the upper class from the rest of you", you're a bigger loser than I thought possible.
PP is harsh. But is not the point worthy of deeper thought?
We just got an invitation in the mail (so sorry to dredge up an old thread). We are in a public school where my DS really shines. I have no idea who suggested him or why he was sent an invitation, but I would love for him to go, not because it weeds out "the upper class from the rest of us" (we are "the rest of us") but because I want him to be comfortable with good manners and be something he takes with him wherever he goes. I already teach my kids manners at home but could use the reenforcement, especially when so many people around here are rude -- makes it hard to convince my kids that good manners are important when others don't seem to think they are. (Case in point, PPs above. I highly doubt the DCs of PPs above have great manners -- if you were instilling them with great manners, why are you calling people losers and pathetic? Not good manners, and not nice either. Would love to separate out people like this, money or no money.) How much does it cost? Anyone know? If he got an invitation, is it possible to get financial aid? Couldn't find any $$ info on the website. Gauche? about $500 for the year and no financial aid as far as I know.

Thank you, PP!
