Well- begs the question, why don’t we have one? Individual Americans have become billionaires through oil in the gulf & Texas - why didn’t the American people tax some of that money & invest it like the Norwegians, saudis etc?? Oh you know why? B/c it’s a progressive idea! [/quote]

Oil money supplies the money for the Public University Fund in Texas. It is one of the reasons UT Austin, followed by A&M, are very wealthy universities. But agreed, it could have been better invested for the remainder of Texans. [/quote]
