Meadows is trying to get the case moved to federal court. https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/15/politics/mark-meadows-fulton-case-federal-court/index.html
My understanding is the law in question only changes the venue to a federal district court, but the jurisprudence remains the State of Georgia.
What does that mean for us non-lawyers? If it means that the case will be tried under Georgia law even if it's in federal court, then what's the point of moving it to federal court?
One The federal jury will be more conservative and support Trump. Two Federal courts will not show the trial on TV. Fox would be forced to cover or heavily edited anything about the trial.
