The most important thing in the story linked above is that forensic experts concluded that it was not Zimmerman crying out for help on the 911 tape. I don't see how anyone could listen to that tape knowing it was Trayvon Martin crying out "help" and "no" and believe there is any case for self-defense. The boy was begging for his life in the final moment.
The forsensic tapes are compete junk science. Would you convict someone based on 51% probability. Cases have gotten throen out for much less. The only evidence is the police report, eye witnesses , video with gash in back of the head and the doctor and paramedics reports. They all exonerate Zimmerman. Mean while thrre have been like 40 other deaths with no coverage
You're off in your interpretation of the findings of the forensic expert. He didn't find that there was a 51% probability that the voice is Zimmerman's. Where are you getting the number 51%, by the way? I haven't seen that number mentioned in regards to this case. The expert found this:
The software compared that audio to Zimmerman's voice. It returned a 48 percent match. Owen said to reach a positive match with audio of this quality, he'd expect higher than 90 percent.
There is a difference between percent match and probability. Where has it been reputably reported that there is a doctor's report? If you're just talking about the claims of Zimmerman's family that there is a doctor's report, that's not evidence so far, it's just a claim made by the shooter's family.
The software compared that audio to Zimmerman's voice. It returned a 48 percent match.
Yes, a 48% match is very bad. It's like saying you got hair color and eyes right, but not height or gender.
