The campaign and Candidate Trump specifically knew ahead of time about the stolen material. Did they notify the FBI? Did they make a public statement pulling all such information off limits for the campaign? No, the weaponized it and used it to their advantage. Given the communications between the campaign and Wikileaks, if it is demonstrated that there is a hard connection between the GRU and Wikileaks, then there would be an international conspiracy against the US Election that the Trump campaign actively participated in. A big if, but it is out there.
