None. But neither are democrats advocating putting meaningful restrictions on immigrants so that we can have nice things.

You are mistaken if you think people in the middle of the country would not take that deal IF controls were in place to actually deport illegal immigrants. Remember Bernie was the biggest threat before he started talking amnesty. People like the idea of universal healthcare. they dont like the idea of non-citizens taking advantage of our system.[/quote]

This doesn’t make any sense because undocumented people are not eligible for most government services. Certainly not Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, SNIP,  ACA subsidies, Social Security, etc.

In some states illegal immigrants do get medicaid. Pregnant women also get WIC regardless of immigration status. Once they have children, they apply for benefits on their behalf. Emergency Rooms are already being used as doctors offices by the illegal immigrant population. [/quote]

Again, the vast majority of government services are unavailable to undocumented people. You wouldn’t want to extend services to support our families because maybe some tiny % of those services would be abused?

So rather than risk having a tiny % of abuse you prefer to have nothing - zero benefits for any citizens. Sounds like spite to me.

I dont prefer having nothing. I prefer having all those programs for citizens only ([b]not legal residents[/b]). But no, I dont think others will go for it without first ensuring that it wont be used for anyone who steps foot here.[/quote]

Some services do go illegal immigrants. And with democrats in control I doubt they would pass any new entitlements without including illegal immigrants. They have shifted so far to the left that the extreme wing of the party would never allow them to put forth legilastion that leaves out illegal immigrants. They would MAYBE exclude illegal immigrant felons. Maybe.[/quote]
