I think people just fortgot that Rebecca had asked Jack to remind her to buy batteries at the start of the episode.  It was  very brief.  I remembered it because I ask my dh the same type of question.  There should have been a subtitle in English.  REMEMBER THIS PART.  IT'S IMPORTANT.[/quote]

That's weird, because I remember thinking at that moment that it was bad, obvious acting when she asked about the batteries![/quote]
