Shockingly (sarcasm), the Congresswoman went there. "That's a racist term, too. I'm thinking about that one. We looked it up in the dictionary because I had never heard of an empty barrel."

Displaying her foolishness again. I've never heard of it either but I didn't need help to understand it's meaning. I'm going to assume she meant that she Googled it, because idioms aren't found in the dictionary. And she learned that it was racist. I'd like to know where she found a racist connotation. Source please, Madam Congresswoman? Oh yeah. According to Charles Blow, NYT writer, "Everything is racist, until it isn't."
