The officials, parents, volunteers, and swimmers were very kind.  Tuckahoe hate runs deep on DCUM threads.  The reality was a lot different than described in these chats.

Agreed. Tuckahoe was welcoming, their swimmers were competitive but not cruel, the facility was nice, and there were many really close and really fast races. We are thankful that Tuckahoe hosted us. OKM does permit tech suits and/or 12&U kneeskins if the swimmer is milliseconds from breaking a team record. [/quote]

I second this!  The Tuckahoe folks were nice and welcoming.  Yes, also competitive but at the same time complementary to our swimmers for the great races.  The meet was also extremely efficient and well run which was very noticeable in the crazy heat!  The timers were friendly and even had water/rags for us to stay as cool as possible.

Don't be a fool. They were nice and complimentary because they knew they were going to absolutely crush you. Had you been real competition it would not have been so light and fun. [/quote]
