President Joe Biden took a double-digit hit in support from the politically crucial Iowa Democratic caucus, losing backing from women and young voters, a new poll shows. In a new Emerson College polling survey, Biden dropped 19 percentage points – from 69% to 50% – in caucus…
https://www.wgmd.com/poll-shows-biden-lost-double-digit-support-among-iowa-dems/
A new Arab American Institute poll finds that only 17% of Arab American voters saying they will vote for President Biden in 2024 — a staggering drop from 59% in 2020. Said pollster James Zogby: “This is the most dramatic shift over the shortest period of time that I’ve ever seen.” “The damage isn’t limited to Biden: Just 23% of Arab Americans identify with the Democratic Party, marking the first time a majority did not claim to prefer the Democrats since the institute began tracking party identification in 1996. Those identifying as Independents rose to 31%, the highest it’s ever been.”
https://politicalwire.com/2023/10/31/poll-suggests-biden-losing-support-of-arab-americans/
Swing-state Muslim Americans threaten to vote against Biden Muslim Americans voted overwhelmingly for Biden. But community leaders in swing states tell NBC News that the president's handling of the war in Gaza risks losing their support. As Israel’s U.S-backed war against Hamas intensifies and Palestinian civilian deaths mount, a growing number of swing-state Muslim American and Arab American leaders are warning President Joe Biden that he is losing support from their communities in ways that could cost him in next year’s election. Muslim Americans overwhelmingly backed Biden in 2020 and would be expected to again in 2024, especially if his opponent is former President Donald Trump, who has revived his plans to ban many Muslims from entering the United States. But in multiple battleground states that Biden won with thin margins last time, a growing chorus of community leaders say his handling of the war in Gaza and Islamophobia at home jeopardize his path to victory in the Electoral College, with many Muslim American and Arab American voters saying they plan to either stay home next November, vote for a write-in or a third-party presidential candidate, or simply leave the top of the ticket blank.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/swing-state-muslim-voters-threaten-vote-against-biden-rcna122870
The poll is the latest evidence that Biden's campaign for a second term in office is rapidly losing Muslim and Arab Americans support over his staunch support of Israel. These voters have traditionally voted for Democratic candidates and are prominent in hotly contested states like Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania, that could decide the 2024 presidential election.
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/arab-american-support-biden-democrats-plummets-over-israel-poll-2023-10-31/ Looks like trump will win. Good job Joe! This does not even count the progressives and under 40 voters who are pissed off. Maybe Joe will resign or not run? Can only hope.
The Muslim and Arab-American communities are in for a big surprise if Trump wins.
Why? From 2016 to 2020, the number of minorities that voted for Trump *increased*. That means the more they heard him, the more they liked him. He lost white votes and that's why he lost. It's kind of gross and paternalistic to say that your perception about what Muslims want is better than the Muslim community's own perceptions. They are perfectly capable of looking at their choices and selecting the best one for them. And Biden’s choices speak for themselves about the kinds of beliefs and lifestyles he promotes, and the kinds of beliefs and lifestyles he wants to subvert. You may recall his speech, surrounded by dark shadows and bathed in a blood red light, about how we must choose because half of the country wants to "take America backwards." The trouble is, many Americans DO think America had better days and that going back to a time of values and cohesion would be a good thing. And, Islam in particular has a major sect that thinks that the past, particularly the Prophet Mohammed, should serve as an example for the present. There's really no space for this kind of traditionalism in the new left.
