Like I said, my post is sincere I don't think all Republicans are horrible people but I also think almost all Republican political actions are horrible How can I make sense of this?
I think it is a mix of things: they always have been republicans/don’t want to believe how horrible the party is now, are not well informed/educated, don’t get or care are things on a large scale. My mom is one of the most loyal, hardworking, will drop anything to help a friend, giving of her time to make sure town clubs are well run, etc - she definitely voted for Trump. She LOVES my Mexican bff. I finally broke down and told her that he is a DACA recipient. She literally cried at the thought of him getting deported. Not sure if that will change the larger picture for her. She is very compassionate on an individual basis but has a hard time expanding that to the larger scale.
This is one of many LEGAL ways to become a citizen. Cudos to your mom. She recognizes the horrible situation, but still capable to recognize right from wrong. The proper legal way for your boyfriend is to follow the proper procedure for immigration. You can marry him and he will become a naturalized citizen in a lawful way.
That’s not the way naturalization works.

For people here illegally, it's very difficult or impossible to get citizenship that way. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna898486&ved=2ahUKEwj3sr31mY_fAhUJr1kKHSgdBwsQFjACegQICRAB&usg=AOvVaw2ziSEX-oRdQIhDl-vvg23j&cf=1
Have you read the article you posted? It says harder. Yes, legal ways are always HARDER. It is easier to steal Cartier watch than work hard for it. It is harder to drive within the speed limit. Lawful ways are always harder. As to the pp, if he boyfriend haven't committed any violations of law, other than coming to us illegally, it is not the hat hard to legalize through marriage.
Did you read the article? Much harder, if not impossible. You can try to do it right and still get deported. And no, legal ways are not always harder. Stealing an expensive watch is actually pretty difficult and dangerous. It's pretty easy to obey the speed limit. Not any harder than speeding really. Enforcement is the problem. That's the problem for illegal immigration too. A problem that a wall won't solve and Trump has no clue how to do.
