There’s clearly a uniform for women working in the White House, both in this term and the earlier one, and it doesn’t include pants. This is just one article but there are lots of others.

Oh, come on.  The women in his administration - as well as his wife - wear pants suits all the time, in addition to skirts and dresses.  Just like in the previous administration.  This is absurd.  [/quote]

In the previous administration, it was definitely a thing that he told women he preferred dresses to pants.  Not a hard rule but everyone knew his preference.  I don’t have a sense it’s as much of a thing this administration.  I think he’s pretty out of it so not really promulgating fashion rules.  [/quote]
