Trump’s description of American is a horrible place. It’s all just killing, drug burning cities, pedophiles, etc. You can tell Trump and the Republicans really hate Americans
Is he lying though? Once you leave the northeast, the country looks very scary. Unless you make 1 million a year or more, you are struggling
Yes, he is lying. Despite trump, our cities are very desirable places to live and work and they are the economic engine of the country. So when he sends ICE to our cities, which push kids out of schools and business to shutter, it slows our economy down. And yes, people are struggling. And it is worse now than under the democrats, uless you are one of the billionaires. Trump told you what he was going to do and you voted for him anyhow.
The murder rate in DC is down literally 63% compared to last year. This is the DCUM forum. How can you say it was better to live in a place with a 63% worse murder rate? https://mpdc.dc.gov/dailycrime Moreover, even mainstream like the Washington Post are reporting that crime is down nationwide by staggering margins. How is this not a good thing?
It was already on a downward trajectory from when trump left office in 2021. The continuing improvement has nothing to do with more federal presence.
You know you can actually see year by year murder numbers at the bottom of that page that was linked right? There were 116 murders in 2017, in the 200s from 2021 to 2023 (peaking with 274 in 2023). In 2025 it dropped drastically to 127 and we are on pace to be way below 100 by year end (we have 10 murders year to date). As someone who lives and works in DC I am not going to slight this progress. If the 2026 murder totals are less than 88 it will be the lowest murder rate in DC since at least the 1970s.
Yes, you are making my point. Crime spiked under Trump and in the aftermath of COVID and is coming back to where it would have been if not for COVID.
Trump was president in 2023?! Wow. And I thought Q Anon followers were crazy.
2023 came after COVID...how do you not get that a global pandemic with corresponding economic impact bungled by Trump wouldn't have impact on the public?
