It depends on the school. But you're not even selecting the highest GPAs. It's not quite as bad as taking every kids with a 3.5 GPA and at least algebra 1 (which is about 40% of all FCPS 8th graders) and picking them out of a hat but it's pretty fukken random. You've abandoned the concept of merit because you don't want to admit that academic merit is not evenly distributed across all populations.[/quote]
