You either are very new or trolling.  Assuming the former, and being friendly, the concentration of local talent occurs in 9th grade at Capital Lacrosse Club.  You will note that Capital is #1 for 2025s; #9 for 2026s; and #16 for their new team, the 2027s.

Pride is generally the top local club in rankings through 8th grade (exceptions including 2027 BLC, and 2026 Stars), and the club average a top 15 ranking until 9th grade when many top area players consolidate at Capital.  St James-owned Stars is typically the 2nd highest ranked local club through 8th grade (top 40 every year).   The MOCO teams, BLC, NL, and MC Elite were traditionally in the high 60s to 80s in the rankings, but BLC and MC Elite has dropped off this year.  Hope that helps.[/quote]

BLC through 8th grade for 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2029 were / are top 20 teams (some notably higher, like 2027 BLC, which was a top ten team). BLC 2028 is an off year. The point about BLC being on the “high 60s to 80s” is way off.  [/quote]

Respectfully, you may want to check the data again on the top 20 teams.  Please let us know if you have a better source for current and historic rankings than usclublax.com.  That said, you were right, I was way off.  BLC has averaged a ranking of 103.8, not 60s-80, in their 8th grade year over the 5 teams where we have data.

--For the 2025s, you are right, I was too optimistic.  BLC 2025 Blue finished their 8th Grade season ('20-'21) ranked 221st.  That's 221, not 21. I misread their US Club Lax "rating" (76) as their "ranking", as I didn't expect them to be that far down.

--BLC 2026 Blue finished their 8th Grade season ('21-'22) ranked 77th.

--The very strong 2027 team was acknowledged in the original post (finished 7th in '22-'23).  Some great players in that group.

--2028s are currently ranked 201.

--2029s not even in 8th grade yet, but are currently ranked 20th.

Averaging the ratings--2025 (221); 2026 (77); 2027 (7); 2028 (201); and for fairness 2029 (20)--results in an average of 103.8.

New poster. History is important. Through 2026s, the better BLC players moved to Stars in sixth or seventh grade to put them on a path to Capital. Other players moved to Pride and MD teams. These defections would cause the remaining BLC teams to struggle in seventh and eighth grade.

The BLC 27s were different. They stuck together and stayed with the club, and they were good (ranked #7 as people have noted). Just before their 8th grade year, Capital announced a partnership with BLC in 2022 to entice them to stay and try out for Capital the following year. It worked - half of the 2027s made the Capital 2027 team.

The 2028s were never as good as the 2027s — they didn’t have the depth, and the better players fled early on MD teams. But the 2029s are ranked #20 and the 2030s are ranked #16. These two years indicate the pipeline BLC now has with Capital is working. Fewer players are leaving the club in search of other teams. A strong argument can be made that the trajectory of BLC is the best it’s been in recent years.

That history helps, and may square the PP's perception that BLC had top 20 caliber teams, with the subsequent posters references to the cold, hard facts of their 8th grade rankings.  Hope BLC can establish a track record more in line with the 2027s and 2029's current performance.  The more strong DC area teams, the better.[/quote]
