If they went short at say $15/share it is impossible for them to close out at 10x or 20x without bankrupting several hedge funds and causing a cascading effect on Wall Street. The shorts can only re-trench; they are not out of these stocks. They need them to crash down to where they were a month ago to truly get out. It's a game of chicken and this could go for a while -- especially when millions of serfs on the other side don't care if they lose. They want to stick it to the vulture capitalists. And every day and week this continues costs the hedge funds big-time vigs as they're borrowing and borrowing as this game of chicken plays out.[/quote]
